Once Upon a Fall Day in Hot Springs

Fall in Hot Springs is a must-see! The city’s autumn scenery will create colorful and unforgettable memories for your getaways. The Waters team wants to share some of our most favorite things to experience during this time.

Enjoying the breathtaking fall foliage.

Fall colors begin to appear in the state of Arkansas by the second week in October and continue throughout the month. Mid to late October generally provides peak color, putting on a magical show while you stroll through the trails in and around Hot Springs.

Exploring the outdoors.

The fall weather is ideal for enjoying the variety of outdoor activities that the city has to offer such as hiking, biking, or rock climbing. Here are a few places to visit outdoors:

  • The Hot Springs Mountain Tower has 360-degree views of Hot Springs National Park and much of Hot Springs.
  • Garvan Woodland Gardens, a world-class botanical garden on Lake Hamilton, offering a rainbow of colors in the endless sea of hibiscus, roses, wildflowers, and more.
  • Stroll along Central Avenue and explore the many great locally-owned shops and art galleries.
  • Hike the trails in Lake Catherine State Park and take in the Falls Creek Falls.
  • Enjoy a boat tour of Lake Hamilton with Captain Jack.
